ISHHR has convened seven international conferences for health and human rights: France (1987), Costa Rica (1989), Chile (1991), the Philippines (1994), South Africa (1998), Croatia (2001) and India (2005).
The conference was held in the Western part of India, Gujarat, in Vadodara, from 2-5 of February 2005. As the name indicated, "Resilience, Recovery and Reconciliation" comprised the main themes for the conference.
The conference was hosted by the Indu Health Research Foundation - an Indian non-governmental, non-profit organisation.
